Trumpeter, Nathan Tighe, received his Bachelor's degree in trumpet performance from the Eastman School of Music and his Master's degree in trumpet performance from Boston University. He has devoted his career to performing the cutting edge music of today. He has commissioned five new works for trumpet and premiered more than twenty new pieces by both established and emerging composers. In 2008, one of his performances was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award for best contemporary composition. He is currently a member of the Dayton Philharmonic Trumpet Duo with his wife Ashley Hall. As in-school artists for the Muse Machine, they travel around the greater Dayton area presenting a program entitled "Art and Music: Making the Connection," where they take audiences on a tour of 100,000 years of music and art history in forty-five minutes. He and Ashley maintain an active teaching studio in the Mason, Ohio area where they try to instill their students with a lifelong love of music and the arts. After spending several summers working in India, he decided to return to school in hopes of becoming a doctor.  He is currently enrolled at the University of Cincinnati pursuing pre-medical studies and volunteers in a local emergency department.
